Toshiko Chiba Bahr (Toshi) has been studying art and painting for over 30 years.
Her work has been consigned at the Fisher Galleries in Washington DC, and the Snow Goose Gallery in Bethlehem, PA. She is currently an active member of Arts Benicia, located in the beautiful California Bay Area.
Toshi produces art for resale both commercially and through direct commission.
Toshi was born and raised in Sendai, Japan. She studied nursing and worked at several hospitals in Tokyo prior to meeting her husband, Steve, who was stationed in Japan while serving in the Navy. Once married, they settled stateside in Pennsylvania. Toshi attended classes and finely tuned her natural artistic abilities.
She helped support her family through her art, from painting kitchen stools to commissioned murals. Her following and technique has significantly grown over the decades.
Besides her love of art, Toshiko spends time in the gym staying fit. She and Steve enjoy traveling, entertaining, cycling on their tandem and enjoying different food and music venues in the Bay Area.
Toshi and Steve have two children; their daughter is a graduate of University of Pittsburgh and works with special needs children in Humboldt. Their son is an IT Engineer in Orange County.
Toshiko and Steve live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area and travel between Benicia and their family lake house in North Central Pennsylvania.
